The priest serving Christ the Savior is Father Basil Aden.  A former Lutheran pastor, Father Basil’s journey to Orthodoxy with his wife Sandra took over ten years of research, reflection, and prayer.  After special study and reception into the Church, he was ordained to serve as Associate Priest at St. Joseph’s Orthodox Church in Wheaton, IL and then as Mission Director for the Diocese of the Midwest, OCA.  As director, he developed the St. Raphael Mission of Quincy, IL and supervised fifteen missions in the Midwest. 

      Father Basil is an Associate Professor at Rock Valley College, Rockford where he focuses on religious studies in the Philosophy Department.  For the 2008-09 school term, he is on sabbatical to write a textbook of the study of religion in the 21st century.  His background and study prepare him to he1p Americans of different backgrounds on their spiritual journey as well as to be priest and pastor of the parish.
